Wait… so we’re assuming that it’s River who actually, physically shoots the Doctor on the shore of Lake Silencio.
And we know that older River was watching as this happened.
So my question is…
Why does older River not realize what’s happening?
We know that she remembers that she “killed a good man,” who we are assuming was the Doctor, because she received the blue envelope in her cell in Stormcage.
But she’s surprised when the impossible astronaut shoots the Doctor, and completely shocked when it shoots him the second time.
She even tries to kill it as it walks back into the water.
Something reason tells us isn’t what she would do if she realized that it was herself.
River knows that she killed the Doctor. Does she not remember when, where, or how?
??????????????????????
*NOTE: Everything in the above post is speculation. There is probably an extremely Moffucking solution to all of this that, when revealed, will cause Whovians everywhere to start sharpening their pitchforks.

“Matt Smith in a recent interview has said the following hint about the final end of Ponds: “There’s something coming up in the final days of the Ponds that was in The Eleventh Hour,” he said. “There’s a shot in that. [Moffat’s] been thinking about it that long. He always knew how she was going to… I’m saying too much already.”
